“X-Men” cast alum James Marsden has an actor in mind to take his place as Cyclops if the “X-Men: Apocalypse” production decides to replace him.

Marsden told Yahoo! Movies he would like to see his “The Best of Me” co-star Luke Bracey take on the role of a younger Cyclops.

“Yeah, that’d be great [if Luke Bracey took over as Cyclops],” Marsden said. “Then he could just eventually take over being me. Then I would never get another role as long as I live!”

All jokes aside, Bracey is 25 years old and fights the age to play Cyclops in the 1980s. However, Marsden isn’t sure if he’s done reprising the role of his mutant character just yet.

“Who knows what’s happening [with ‘X-Men’]? It’s all just speculation at this point. If [recasting] does happen, it was because of a timeline issue. I know so little about that whole world,” Marsden told Yahoo! Movies. “Most of the time, the actors are the last to know.”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” writer Simon Kinberg also recently spoke to Yahoo! Movies about the upcoming film. Kinberg claimed there is a possibility Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm get recast as younger versions of the current actors.

“If we included some of the original X-Men, like Storm and Jean and Scott and others, in Apocalypse, yeah, we would have to recast them, because Apocalypse takes place a good 20 years before X1, which now, insanely, was 10 or 15 years ago,” Kinberg said.

“It’d be very hard to do. Halle [Berry], and Famke [Janssen], and Jimmy [Marsden], and others have done such wonderful jobs of bringing those characters to life, and they’re so identified, those actors, with the parts now.”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is scheduled to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
