Rain washed out the first ODI, but India came back strong in the second ODI with a 133-run victory. Suresh Raina earned the Man of the Match award for his performance, which included scoring a game-high 100 runs and taking one wicket. Rohit Sharma and skipper MS Dhoni both added 52 runs apiece, and Ajinkya Rahane put up 41.
"This knock is one of the most special ones for me given the circumstances and the conditions," Raina said, via CricBuzz.com. "We hadn't won the game in a long time and to help the team break that jinx with a century was very satisfying."
On the bowling front, India did an excellent job by limiting England's batsmen to just 161 runs at a rate of 4.23. Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets and recorded seven outs; Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets and notched 9.1 outs.
England couldn't get its offense going, with the only source of significant production coming from Alex Hales's 40 runs. With the exception of Chris Woakes, who took four of the team's six wickets and recorded 10 outs, England's bowlers struggled to restrict India's batsmens.
