Patrick Steward Eats His First Slice of Pizza (PHOTO)

Actor Patrick Stewart sent a tweet to his more than 400,000 followers Wednesday that made many of his follower's jaws drop.

The 72-year-old actor posted a picture of himself enjoying a folded slice of New York Pizza with a caption that read "My first ever pizza 'slice'. Please note: the authentic NY fold."

Stewart has been a member of Twitter since June of last year. He regularly posts to his followers and often tweets humorous pictures that he takes while living his life.

The tweet was up for the night before he sent a clarifying tweet earlier today where he confirmed that it was not his first time eating pizza, only his first time eating it by the slice.

"To clarify: 1) I've never had a 'slice' 2) I've been a Habs fan all of 4 weeks 3) I'm also a fan of Bloomberg's soda legislation."

The Habs reference refers to the Montreal Canadiens hockey team whose hat he is sporting in the shot. The third part of the tweet is a reference to former New York City mayor Bloomberg's attempt at legislation that would ban the sale of super sized sodas. Clearly the former "Star Trek: The Next Generation" actor was having a little bit of fun with the fact that his soda in the picture is so very small.

The idea that a man going through life having never tried a pizza was too ridiculous to believe, some even have trouble believing that the slice addendum is even true. Particularly since Stewart has called Brooklyn his home since last summer after he purchased a $2.5 million duplex apartment in Park Slope.

The pizza trip comes as a break while Stewart films the latest installment in the X-Men series titled "Days of Future Past." The actor will be reprising his role as psychic mutant, and leader of the X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier.
