Marvel President Kevin Feige Teases Black Panther, Captain Marvel Appearance In Cinematic Universe?

Marvel President Kevin Feige may have revealed two fan-favorite superheros will be making their big screen debut.

During an interview with IGN (via Latino Review), Feige claimed those in charge of development have their eyes on Captain Marvel and The Black Panther. The two fan-favorite characters have yet to make an appearance in the Marvel cinematic universe, but Feige teased possible plans for the characters.

“They’re both characters that we like, that development work has been done on and continues to be done on and certainly the public… it’s a question I get asked more than anything else,” Feige told IGN. “More than Iron Man 4. More than The Avengers 3. And that’s sort of the first time that’s really happened to us so I think that makes a difference. I think that’s something we have to pay attention to.”

The Marvel President remained vague as to what they are planning to do with The Black Panther and Captain Marvel. However, Feige explained Marvel has a plan mapped out for their universe, and won’t let fan opinions dictate which characters will premiere on the big screen.

"I’ve always said we have our plan and it served us very well,” Feige told IGN, “and there hasn’t been anything that has made us deviate or change from that based on opinion because opinions online change and they alter, and they’re based on sort of limited information they have towards what’s going on behind-the-scenes. But in this particular case I think it is a groundswell. I think it does. I think it means something substantial.”

Marvel has already lined up several projects with release dates, but has yet to reveal their titles. Do you think a Black Panther solo film is in the works? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
