Fans of the late Robin Williams petitioned Nintendo to make a NPC dedicated to the actor in his favorite game of all, “Legend of Zelda.”

Williams has always been open about his love for the title, and named his only daughter after the game’s titular princess. For the game’s 25th anniversary, Nintendo hired Williams and his daughter Zelda to play the game in several ads.

In light of his death, fans took to Change.org to create a petition asking Nintendo to honor the actor in the next “Legend of Zelda” title. Nintendo has since released a statement to fans asking for the memorial in the upcoming game.

"Robin Williams was loved at Nintendo,” a spokesperson for Nintendo told Polygon. “Our hearts go out to his entire family, and especially to Zelda Williams who we've worked with multiple times. We appreciate the outpouring of support from the gaming community, and hear the request of fans to honor him in a future game. We will not be discussing what might be possible for future games during this difficult time, but we will hold our memories of Robin close."

Fans of the actor have also petitioned “World of Warcraft” to create a character in his memory.

The petition reads, “Robin Williams was not only an excellent comedian but also a game enthusiast, he said that he enjoys Warcraft III very much in an interview a few years ago, and was even apart of the mmorpg World of Warcraft. It was reported that Robin used to play on the Mannoroth server, and was something of a troll in trade on good days or when anonymity allowed. Mr. Williams said in interviews that he took his World of Warcraft characters very serious - in fact he was well known for being an extreme PC builder who prefered to build his own overclocked and super-cooled systems.”

Blizzard, WoW’s game developers, responded to the petition on their official Twitter account. The developers claim they are working on a way to honor the actor in one of his favorite games.
