"American Idol" alum Josh Gracin is being held in a hospital under a 5150 psychiatric hold after posting an apparent suicide note on Facebook. On Aug. 14, friends and family of Gracin became alarmed after the Season 2 finalist posted a status that was interpreted as a suicide note, TMZ reports.
In it, the 33-year-old hinted at possible marriage problems and said "goodbye" to his friends and family.
"I've loved her for 17 years... I made mistakes... I admitted them, told her the truth and she turned her back on me when I need her help the most... I love you all... You have given me the greatest gift. You allowed me to touch your hearts wit what I loved to do the most... Please remember me as someone who gave his all in his music... Pray for my family as they carry on in this world without me. Goodbye," Gracin posted on his Facebook page.
Immediately after people started reading the post, they became worried and called the cops. According to TMZ, police rushed to Gracin's Spring Hill, Tenn. home but he wasn't there. His wife, Ann Marrie, answered the door.
Eventually cops were able to get in contact with the "American Idol" alum, who told his wife he was headed home. TMZ reports that police found Gracin while he was on his way and the singer drove himself to the hospital.
Following the ordeal, Gracin's manager took to Facebook to update friends and family and thank everyone for their support.
"Good evening everyone. This is Josh's manager, Amy. First, thank you everyone for your prayers and concern. Josh is safe and with his family now. We ask that you please respect their privacy during this time and continue sending your well wishes. I promise to update you soon," his manager wrote.
Gracin and his wife have been married since 2001 and have four children together.
