Warner Bros. has hired two writers to pen a script for a rumored "Aquaman" solo film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Beall ("Gangster Squad") and Kurt Johnstad ("300: Rise of an Empire") will write the screenplay. Aquaman is rumored to make his debut in the upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" production. "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa is reportedly taking on the role.

"Aquaman is being developed on dual tracks, where studios and producers hire two separate writers to work on the same project in the hopes of getting the best version," THR reports. "The practice allows for release dates to be set while a project is still in development while giving it a muscular push. Warners needs just that as last week it dated nine untitled DC movies between 2016 and 2020."

Warner Bros. recently revealed their DC movie lineup after they announced "Batman vs. Superman" would be pushed up from May 2016 to March 2016. According to The Wrap, Warner Bros. will be releasing 11 titles after "Batman vs. Superman." Check out the lineup below:
