Acer is coming out with an all-new Chromebook 13 that sports a 1080p display, Tegra K1 processor, lasting battery among other features.

The Acer Chromebook 13 is the latest addition in the ever-increasing Chromebook market and the first in the industry to feature NVIDIA's Tegra K1 processor under-the-hood.

The Tegra K1 processor uses NVIDIA's Kepler GPU with 192 programmable cores,  NVIDIA explained in a press release on Monday. In addition, the Chromebook 13 features a 13-inch display with 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution. The PC giant is also offering another model at a cheaper price with a lower resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

Both Chromebook 13 models come with a 16GB solid state drive and 2GB RAM. However, the higher-end model can be boosted to 32GB SSD and 4GB RAM. These new Chromebooks are extremely light and sleek in design, measuring just 0.71 inches in thickness and 3.31 pounds in weight. Standard features such as two USB 3.0 ports, full HDMI port for screen mirroring, SD card slot, stereo speakers, 720p HD video camera and a microphone for web chats are integrated into the Chromebook. These models feature a fan-less design, which keeps the board cool without any noise. Acer has packed a 3220mAh battery to power all new features and the high resolutions so it lasts up to 11 hours on the Full HD model and additional two hours on the lower end model.

Chromebook is a name given to a laptop running Google's Chrome OS. These laptops rely entirely on cloud services for functions like storage, documents viewing and editing, browsing and all other operations that a normal PC can perform. Low memory and fast processing enables Chromebooks to perform faster than traditional laptops and boots in less than seven seconds. Google has received a favorable response for its light and fast notebooks.

The entry-level Chromebook 13 model with low-resolution is priced at $280. For just $20, buyers can trade the resolution for a Full HD on the Chromebook 13. The high-end model sells for $380. Currently, these machines are available for pre-order from Amazon and Best Buy and shipments are expected in September.

The Chromebook 13 will also be available in other countries including UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, South Africa and Switzerland, Engadget reported.
