Islamic State Warns It Will 'Raise The Flag Of Allah In The White House,' Report Says

The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham has allegedly threatened to "raise the flag of Allah in the White House," according to a video interview the jihadists gave to reporters from Vice News.

ISIS, or simply IS as it is now known, reportedly made the threats while declaring it has already established a caliphate in the conflict-ridden nation.

"I say to America that the Islamic caliphate has been established," IS spokesman Abu Mosa told Vice News. "Don't be cowards and attack us with drones. Instead send your soldiers, the ones we humiliated in Iraq. We will humiliate them everywhere, God willing, and we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House."

The interview, uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, is part one of a documentary titled "The Islamic State." Vice News reporter Medyan Dairieh spent three weeks with the Sunni militants, talking and riding along with them as they attempt to establish Sharia law throughout seized territories in northern Iraq and Syria.

The five-part videos are supposed to make the viewer feel as if "you were inside the story," Kevin Sutcliffe, head of Vice's news programming in Europe, told The Huffington Post. Part one takes place in the Syrian city of Raqqa.

For months IS has carried out a campaign of terror across northern Iraq, seizing cities and announcing a new caliphate, or Islamic state, at the end of June. In Sinjar city, some 40,000 Christians and members of the Yazidi sect were forced out of their homes after the jihadists threatened to kill them.

They fled to Mount Sinjar, where they remain trapped without water and food.

Part one of the documentary came out the same day President Barack Obama approved airstrikes against IS to prevent genocide of the refugees and to protect U.S. interests. On Friday, the first of the targeted airstrikes were dropped near the city of Erbil, which has a U.S. consulate and is under threat from the extremists.

Obama also announced this week the U.S. airdropped humanitarian aid to the refugees.
