Samsung's 2 New Galaxy Smartphones Launches In India; Boasts Large 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch Screen Size

Samsung announced the launch of two new Galaxy smartphones in the Indian market, Tuesday, which features large 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch screen size.

Samsung continues the large-screen trend for Indian customers, inspired by the huge success of Galaxy Note, which boasts 5.5-inch screen size. Well, the two new Galaxy smartphones, Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3, are bigger than any Samsung smartphone in India, yet smaller than tablets. Although, the launch of these new smartphones comes shortly after the release of Samsung flagship Galaxy S4, it is bound to do well in sales as they are mid-ranged smartphones with convincing features.

Mentioned below are the key features of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3.

MEGA 5.8:

As the specifications for both the devices seem almost similar, except for the size, of course, and the processer, but all the features packed in Mega 5.3 and 6.3 is lower in comparison to Samsung galaxy SIII and Note II. The exterior of both phones is derived from the Galaxy S4 and the Mega 6.3 packs some features from S4 too.

"Consumers in India are preferring the larger screen displays in their smartphones owing to the time they spend doing more with their devices," said Vineet Taneja, head of Samsung's mobile division in India. "Galaxy Mega meet the varying lifestyles of our consumers."

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 can be used as a television remote control with the 'Samsung WatchON' feature. 'Samsung Link' can help share pictures, videos, music to TV, tablet or computer. Also the 'Group Play' feature which syncs up to 8 Samsung devices (supported devices only) can be used to share within the same Wi-Fi network. The 'Air View' gesture which was introduced in Galaxy S4 is added in the Mega 6.3.

These devices in India have been tied up with RCOM and Vodafone. RCOM offers 2GB data per month free for 3 months and unlimited access to Big flicks, WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook. Vodafone offers 2GB data free per month for two months.

The Galaxy Mega 5.8 is priced at INR 25,100, while the Mega 6.3 will cost INR 31,490. Mega 5.8 will be in stores in a week, while 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega will be available for customers by mid-June.
