The St. Louis Cardinals play the San Diego Padres on Thursday in Game 3 of their series. The game starts at 3:40 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast below.
San Diego can sweep the three-game series with a win Thursday. The Padres' pitchers limited St. Louis to just one run in each of the last two games while scoring 15 runs -- including 12 runs on Wednesday -- over the last two games.
Wednesday's 12-1 win saw Padres second baseman Jedd Gyorko homer and finish with four RBIs and rookie starting pitcher Jesse Hahn celebrate his 25th birthday with allowing just one run, giving him his seventh win in nine starts.
"We haven't had it enough," Padres manager Bud Black told the Associated Press of his team's scoring. "But it's great to see. It starts with starting pitching, and Jesse pitched a great game. He's not a secret, even though he's facing teams for the first time. There's video, there's scouting reports. He's being talked about because he's made a number of starts and his innings are getting up there a little bit."
The strong game from Gyorko, meanwhile, was a nice change from his recent struggles at-bat.
"It obviously feels good to swing the bat the way I wanted to," he said. "It feels a lot like how I was swinging it there at the end of the year last year. It's something to build on but I still have a long way to go."
Pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne (2-2 , 1.66 ERA) is scheduled to start Thursday for San Diego. The rookie is coming off Saturday's 5-3 loss at Atlanta, to whom he gave up two earned runs through 3.2 innings.
Despaigne will be opposed by Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller (7-6, 4.20), who earned a no-decision in Saturday's win against the Chicago Cubs.
