Several A-list actresses are seeking to get the political role of a lifetime in the biopic "Rodham." Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain, Scarlett Johansson and Amanda Seyfried are the four actresses supposedly being considered for the role.
The movie was written by Young il-Kim and will be directed by James Ponsoldt.
The movie centers around "the early years of Clinton's marriage to President Bill Clinton and her time as a 26-year-old Washington lawyer" at Yale Law School, the New York Daily News reports.
"They're all wonderful actresses," director James Ponsoldt told The Independent. "We're very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We're in an enviable position."
According to Politico the film will show a more personal and younger side of Clinton
"It's a journey of a woman who was torn between her personal desires and her professional ambition-both literally pulled her thousands of miles apart, because Bill did not want to leave Arkansas, and she did not want to leave Washington, D.C.;" Kim told Politico.
Kim adds that the film starts off with Clinton meeting Bill and falling in love and dealing with the same struggles that everyone else goes through.
Kim's script made Hollywood's 2012 "Black List," a compilation that highlights the most talked about projects yet to head into production. Other films that have made the list in the past include "The Social Network," "Juno" and "The King's Speech."
"Regardless of people's political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don't find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive," Ponstoldt said. "I want a wonderful actress who could embody that."
"Rodham" is set to be released close to the 2016 presidential election in which some people hope Clinton will be a candidate.
