Keith Urban's Mansfield concert saw a number of inebriated fans being rushed for medical attention.

A number of concertgoers at Keith Urban's show in Mansfield, Massachusetts, on Saturday night imbibed too much alcohol and had to be given medical treatment, Rolling Stone reported.

A joint statement by the town's police and fire departments revealed that authorities rushed to the scene to deal with the medical mayhem.

Witnesses said several inebriated fans passed out and injured themselves. Ambulances from five nearby communities were enlisted to take care of the situation, according to The Boston Herald.

More than 50 people were put in protective custody by police while 46 fans were treated for alcohol-related ailments. At least 22 of them were even transported to hospitals near the concert area, which is about 25 miles south of Boston, reported Reuters.

"In total, Fire and EMS attended to 46 medicals resulting in 22 transports mostly alcohol-related," Mansfield Police Chief Ron Sellon and Fire Chief Neil Boldrighini said in a statement.

"The large number of medicals in a shortened time of approximately three hours caused the activation of a phase one EMS plan utilizing ambulances from five mutual aid communities. Police dealt with a steady stream of intoxicated persons as well, resulting in over 50 people being taken into protective custody and a number of others arrested for alcohol-related issues," the statement continued.

Urban is yet to release a statement on the issue, but in his video message to his fans, which he shared on his Twitter account, he thanked everyone who made it to his show.

He also extended his gratitude to Whitney Doucet, who made a special appearance on his concert.

"HUGE PROPS to @whitdoucet for slaying 'We Were Us' tonite. You made Massachusetts VERY proud!!!!!! And I had a blast! - KU #RaiseEmUpTour," the singer wrote.
