Katie Couric Weds John Molner in Intimate Hamptons Ceremony

Katie Couric and her fiancé John Molner got married on Saturday, June 21 in a quiet ceremony in East Hampton, New York. The 57-year-old veteran journalist wore an ivory crystal beaded and embroidered Chantilly lace halter gown by Carmen Marc Valvo, Today.com reports.

A source told the site that the wedding was attending by close friends and family and was held at the couple's home.

"So excited to make my debut as Mrs. John Molner," Couric tweeted following the nuptials.

Her daughters Elle, 22, and Carrie, 17 were in attendance as well as Molner's children Allie and Henry Molner. According to Today, his nieces and nephews served as flower girls and ring bearers. The reception was also held at the Hamptons home and included beautiful flower arrangements featuring roses, peonies, dahlias, and hydrangeas.

Hank Lane Music supplied the tunes for the ceremony and guests snacked on strawberry lemon cake for dessert. Couric and Molner, who is head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman, got engaged in September 2013 after going public with their relationship the previous year.

"It's actually surprising to me that it has been almost 15 years and I haven't been remarried," Couric told More magazine in February 2013 about her deceased first husband. "I think life is more fun when you have someone in your life."

According to E! News, seven months after that interview, Molner proposed on a beach at sunset.

The former Today co-host gushed about the financier on her now-canceled talk show.

"The quality I look for in a person is integrity and someone who's honorable and loyal and has just really terrific core values, and I think he has all those things," she said. "He's really funny. He makes me laugh all the time, and I really think that the best way to get through all of life's challenges is to have a sense of humor."

According to US Weekly, Couric celebrated her bachelorette party on Wednesday, June 18 with about 45 friends. A source told the magazine that the ladies started off grabbing a bite to eat at Le Midi near Union Square before trying their hand at a little Karaoke.

"They sang and enjoyed a beautiful cake that the friends had brought with them," a source told US Weekly. "Katie sang 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' and a few other tunes. The group mostly stuck to Motown."

51-year-old Molner and his buddies did a bar crawl a few months ago for his bachelor party. This is the second marriage for both. Couric's first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998, and Molner and his first wife divorced.
