Surprise! Emily Maynard is a married woman.
People Magazine reported that the former "Bachelorette" star tied the knot with automotive management consultant Tyler Johnson in a surprise wedding ceremony over the weekend in Sharon, South Carolina.
"God brought us together. He's given me such peace about everything. I'm so grateful I met him," Maynard told People.
The couple invited about 200 relatives and friends at Johnson's farm to watch their nuptials. People reported that guests thought they were attending an engagement party for the couple.
The bride wore a Modern Trousseau gown with cowboy boots, while Johnson sported a black suit with a white shirt. Maynard's eight-year-old daughter, Ricki, served as the maid of honor.
"It's just as much her day as it is mine because it's a big change for her," Maynard said of her daughter. "She just adores Tyler and he is so good with her. He loves her as if she was his own daughter. It's been so great to see their relationship grow."
Maynard met Johnson before she began filming season eight of "The Bachelorette" . The two rekindled their romance after she and Jef Holm called off their engagement in October 2012.
"We met at church," Maynard told "Good Morning America" in January. "I think that's why our relationship is so good now, because we started out as friends."
Johnson proposed to Maynard right after New Year's at her home in Charlotte, N.C. The former ABC reality star is now referring to herself as Emily Johnson.
Maynard was previously engaged to "Bachelor" star Brad Womack after winning the competition in 2011.
"For so long I felt so embarrassed and ashamed about that TV stuff," Maynard told People. "The grace that my faith has given me to wipe that all away and not find worth in that and find it through God, Tyler has been a great example of that for me. He has truly lived out God's grace every day."
