‘Beauty & The Beast’: Kristen Stewart ‘Strongly Considered’ to Play Belle in Disney’s Latest Live-Action Film?

Could Kristen Stewart play the next real-life Disney princess on the big screen? According to Hollywood Life, Stewart is being strongly considered to play Belle in the upcoming live-action version of "Beauty & The Beast."

The 24-year-old actress already has a connection to the film. According to Variety, "Twilight" director Bill Condon has signed on to helm the project. Evan Spiliotopoulos is writing the script.

"The process and the script for the movie are still in the beginning stages but as it fleshes out, Bill Condon has definitely thought of Kristen Stewart as a possible Belle," a source told Hollywood Life.

Stewart recently played Snow White in "Snow White and the Huntsman." According to Hollywood Life, there's only one problem with casting Stewart as Belle.

"By the time they make the film, it might be 2015 or 2016 and they think she'll be busy and they might go after somebody younger," the source continued. "Disney's thoughts are, the big name for the film should be devoted to the Beast so Kristen has a 50/50 chance to be Belle."

According to reports, after Disney saw the success of "Maleficent," they decided to go ahead and do a live-action of "Beauty and the Beast." So far there has not been any official casting news announced. A source told HitFix that Disney plans on following in the same footsteps as "Maleficent" when it comes to hammering out the storyline.

Reportedly the live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast" won't be a direct remake of the 1991 movie.

"In his pitch to the studio, the director said he would also include most, if not all, of the Menken/Rice songs from the Broadway musical that ran for 13 years from 1994 to 2007," HitFix reports. "It will be a 'straight-forward, live action, large-budget movie musical,' we're told."
