One group apparently hates feminism so much that it is petitioning the U.S. government to have feminism classified as a terrorist organization.
As The Frisky reports, a recently posted Change.org petition claims that feminism has escalated to the point where physical violence is being carried out against men who advocate for "men's issues." The petition states that by classifying feminists as terrorists, it will put a stop to the hatred and attacks allegedly carried out by the movement.
Feminism, a decades-old movement that calls for equal rights between the sexes, "has constantly attacked men and women for choosing to live their lives the way they want to," the petition, posted by Janet Wilkinson, reads. "These actions have now progressed to physical violence where we have seen feminists violently attack men who are concerned about men's issues."
The author goes on to mention there have been reports of feminist attacks in Canada and other places that "have left many injured and maimed." Wilkinson did not specify any attacks.
But she did allude to an alleged feminist organization that is planning a future attack.
"Another feminist cell activated recently and is planning on attacking another talk for men in the U.S. It's time we stopped the violence, it's time we put a stop to the hatred feminists are constantly generating."
Wilkinson is not alone in her desire for protection against feminists. One men's rights group, A Voice For Men, is hiring extra security to protect its members at an upcoming conference in Detroit due to alleged death threats from feminists. The group believes that the women's right's movement breeds hatred against men and is ruining society.
The men's rights conference has raised over $25,000 for the added security. The two-day event begins June 27.
As of Wednesday the petition has reached 1,425 signatures out of the desired 1,500.
