E!'s Jason Kennedy and his girlfriend Lauren Scruggs are engaged.
According to E!, the television personality proposed to his girlfriend on Friday in front of close friends and family. Kennedy, who lives in Los Angeles, flew to Scrugg's hometown of Dallas, Texas and spelled out "Will you marry me," in candles below her balcony.
"Truth is I never flew to New York, I flew to Dallas and asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with me. I love you @laurenscruggs," the 32-year-old wrote in an Instagram post along with a picture of his wedding proposal.
Kennedy presented his bride-to-be with a Jennifer Meyer diamond. Scruggs, a 26-year-old model and food blogger, gushed about the proposal in several Instagram posts, including a picture of her and Kennedy with the caption, "Possibly the best night of my life."
The E! News correspondent told the network that the night was a blur, but he could not stop smiling after the proposal.
"She told me I couldn't surprise her, but I got her good. This is the best night of my life," Kennedy said.
In December 2011, Scruggs survived an accident after walking an airplane's propeller. She lost her left eye and left hand and was left with a prosthetic arm. Scruggs had her left eye removed last summer. The pair has been dating since last July and have endured a long-distance relationship.
"I'll admit it, being a so-called good boy has paid off for me," Kennedy told Glamour magazine of his relationship last March. "I've got my dream job. And I've found my dream girl."
