Marvel may have found their replacement for director Edgar Wright in the upcoming "Ant-Man" production.

Wright announced last week he would be exiting the Marvel movie due to creative difference.  However, his departure has caused Marvel to quickly find a last minute replacement as the movie is on a tight deadline to meet their July 17, 2015 release date deadline.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are three directors in the running to replace Wright.  Insider sources say Rawson Thurber, Adam McKay and Ruben Fleischer are allegedly meeting with Marvel for the job.

"Sources say no decisions have been made yet, and Thurber and McKay are among a handful of helmers on the shortlist. Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies) also was said to be in the mix, but a source denied that he has been approached. Levine is preparing to direct the Seth Rogen-Joseph Gordon-Levitt comedy comedy Xmas, which is scheduled to begin shooting in mid-August," THR reports.

Wright's departure still comes as a shock to many.  The Latino Review reports insider sources say the turmoil on the "Ant-Man" production began months ago when Marvel first requested some rewrites.

"Six weeks ago Marvel took the script off them and gave the writing assignment to two very low credit writers. One of the writers were from Marvel's in house writing team. Edgar stayed cool, agreed to stay on the project, and read the draft," according to The Latino Review.  "The script came in this week and was completely undone. Poorer, homogenized, and not Edgar's vision. Edgar met with Marvel on Friday to formally exit and the announcement went out directly after."

The Latino Review's sources claim Wright was upset over Marvel's lack of faith in his creative vision.  Though Wright has left,  the cast and other members of the Marvel production remain on-board for the project.
