Police have found the body of the University of Cincinnati student whose disappearance baffled Ohio police for over a week.
Brogan Dulle, 21, was found dead Monday in a building in Mount Auburn not far from where he went missing, Cincinnati police told WLWT. He was found after 9 p.m. in a vacant area of the building on East McMillan Street, next door to the building where he lived.
Police were called to the East McMillan building after the landlord called 911 about a "burglary in progress," police told WKRC. Investigators later determined there was a body in the building.
Police believe Dulle, who was last seen May 18 leaving his apartment, may have committed suicide.
"At this point obviously he's been missing for seven days. So we think it appears, at this point, emphasis on it appears right now at this point, self-inflicted," Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell told WKRC.
The Hamilton County Coroner's Office said there are no signs of foul play but has not officially released a cause of death.
Dulle has been missing ever since he left his apartment that Sunday in search of a lost cellphone. A man believed to be Dulle was seen on surveillance video walking back and forth on McMillan close to his apartment building.
Search parties covered nearby neighborhoods and handed out fliers, but there were no signs of the missing student, WLWT reported. A $30,000 reward was offered for information leading to Dulle.
Police also searched the perimeter of the building Dulle was found in. There was no indication that he had gone inside.
"We certainly have searched the exterior of this building extensively. We did not see any sight of him," Blackwell told WLWT. "I think it would have been a difficult place for somebody to discover him unless you were inside."
The part of the building Dulle was found in was under renovation, police said.
"There was a lot of people looking for him, and to have an ending like this, it's heartbreaking," Dave Rader, from the Ohio chapter of the nonprofit Texas Equusearch, told WLWT.
