Adidas To Lauch App that will Print 'Instagram' Pictures on Shoes

Adidas has announced that it will soon launch an app that will help printing Instagram pictures of personalized shoes.

In a recent announcement, the sports brand - Adidas - revealed that it is developing an application that will make it possible for people to print their Instagram pictures on a pair of personalized shoes. The pictures will be available for print only on the brand's range of ZX Flux sneakers.

"For sneaker-lovers, it's an exciting chance to make a statement that's your own, following the footsteps of the sell-out ZX Flux Photo Print Prism shoe released in April. For Adidas Originals, it's just the next logical step in breaking the mold of sneaker customization," the company said in a statement.

According to a Gizmodo report, the company revealed that the app will be made available to the public by August this year. It will be compatible with all iPhones and Android smartphones.

The company also released a teaser on the photo-sharing site.

"ARE YOU READY? Take the #zxflux to the next level with the ultra innovative photo print app from #miadidas. Print your favourite photos straight on to one of 2014's hottest silhouettes and make a statement on your sneakers like never before. Rolling out on iPhones and Android phones, from August 2014. The possibilities are limitless," the company captioned the teaser.

Adidas hasn't revealed any detail about how the app will work. When USA Today contacted them, officials confirmed that an email detailing important information of the application, along with pricing details will be released just before the launch of the app.

Adidas seems to have its hands full. With the 2014 Football World Cup nearing, a lot of chatter has been making the rounds - whether Nike will take over Adidas. Currently, almost all top football players prefer Adidas boots to Nike.

The company helped invent the practice of paying athletes to wear its shoes, paying teams to wear its jerseys, and paying a league to use its ball, according to Business Week.
