Johnny Weir and his attorney husband Victor Voronov have reconciled after splitting earlier this year, Us Weekly reports.
The 29-year-old figure skater and fashion correspondent took to Twitter in the pre-dawn hours Tuesday to confirm the news writing: "My husband and I have happily reconciled. Please respect our privacy and integrity at this time."
Weir, who had filed divorce papers, citing domestic difficulties added: "Love is dangerous. Love is safe. Love is ugly. Love is beautiful. To love hard, is the greatest gift, even with all its flaws. Keep shining."
The on-again-off-again couple first announced the separation on Twitter and has since been the source of intense tabloid scrutiny. Weir told Access Hollywood that he experienced incidents of domestic violence before leaving for Sochi, Russia.
"Some of my closest friends have seen him hit me before," he said at the time. "We were fighting in such a terrible way, and it did get physical on that night, and it's unfortunate that things went the way that it did because domestic violence is never the way to go."
Weir appeared in a New Jersey courtroom on charges of domestic violence against his husband. Voronov asked the judge to dismiss the charges, in which he claims that Weir had bitten him during a dispute.
Weir explained the incident in court stating, "I was defending myself and it's unfortunate that there was a mark left on his body because as soon the police came to our home the first thing he did was show this mark, so I knew then he didn't really care that much and all he is out to do is hurt me."
In April, Voronov accused Weir of infidelity. The Georgetown-educated attorney told Inside Edition that he felt "betrayed, heartbroken [and] shocked" by Weir's "unforgivable" behavior, but added that he still loved him.
Voronov added: "But that doesn't take away from the fact that I love him. You could still love somebody who's evil. ... I don't want to use the term 'evil,' because that's a very harsh term, but you can still love somebody who induces you to love them."
Weir denied the rumors surrounding the couple's reconciliations, telling Us Weekly that the divorce was "100% still happening."
