Rich Homie Quan: ‘Type of Way’ Rapper Rushed to Hospital After Collapsing, Suffering Seizures on Music Video Set?

Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan was reportedly rushed to the hospital after collapsing during his music video shoot. According to TMZ, the 24-year-old was filming a video for his latest single "Walk Thru" when he collapsed and hit his head on the pavement.

Reportedly Quan suffered two seizures and was taken to a local hospital. The rapper's rep told the site that Quan fainted because of heat exhaustion but was in "good condition" and recovering at the hospital.

The rapper gained recognition last year after he became the "second mascot" of the Michigan State football team. During the Spartans' 2013 season, the song "Type of Way" became their unofficial anthem, Sports Illustrated.com reports.

After the team beat the previously undefeated Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game on Dec. 7, head coach Mark Dantonio said that he was going to celebrate the win by dancing to "Type of Way" in the locker room with his team.

The shout-out to Quan led to the rapper getting an invitation to attend the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The Spartans ended up winning and Quan was brought in the locker room to help the football team celebrate.

"I sat in the seats at first because I didn't want to distract the players and they told me in the last two minutes of the game ‘Quan, we're going to give you passes so you can be on the sidelines,'" he told Sports Illustrated. "The last two minutes of the game we were already winning so I was already feeling some type of way. And then they won the game."

He said the team let him hold the Rose Bowl trophy and they also gave him souvenirs. Back in the locker room, everyone celebrated and danced to his song.

"It wasn't just the football players but it was the whole school that had the Rich Homie pride," he said. "I'm the second mascot. I feel like the second mascot. I'm a Spartan for life."

Quan was also featured on XXL magazine's cover issue for the 2014 Freshman class.
