’50 Shades of Grey’ Movie Cast Rumors: James Franco and Emilia Clarke Dating? Boosts Chances of Landing Role

James Franco and Emilia Clarke are not only rumored to be dating but have also come up as a leading contending couple for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, Mstarz reported.

Clarke has been a fan-favorite from the very beginning. Fans thinks she has that innocent, naïve, college girl look perfect for Anastasia Steele. Even though Clarke has said she is not comfortable getting naked on camera, fans point out that the "Game of Thrones" star has plenty of nudity scenes on the HBO show.

Franco, on the other hand, has not been a name mentioned that often to play Christian Grey but he does have quite a bit of experience with sex and bondage films.

Franco played Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in the movie "Lovelace" and also produced a documentary called "Kink." In the film Franco visits, Kink, the world's second-largest producer of BDSM pornography. He shows the evolution of the company and attempts to demystify the BDSM-pornographic lifestyle. Check out the preview of "Kink" below.

He also co-directed "Interior. Leather Bar" a film that focuses on gay cruising. All three of the films debuted at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in January. While at the film festival, Franco was asked if he would ever play Christian Grey and Franco responded that he would.

"It sounds interesting, I heard Gus [Van Sant] might direct it. If he directed it, I'll do it."

Franco can also be seen in "Spring Breakers" playing a drug and arms dealer who bust four young, college girls out of jail but requires them to do some of his dirty work for payback.

Perez Hilton reported that Franco and Clarke were seen flirting in New York City's Randalls Island over the weekend. Since the two are in the running of playing the sexy couple in the movie, maybe there real-life romance will only boost their chances of actually landing the role.

Other names thrown into the mix are "Gossip Girl" star Chance Crawford and Rachel McAdams.

According to Mstarz, Crawford told Fox in an interview earlier this year that he was interested in the role.

"I would love the challenge...I have not read the books, but what I know is that it is risqué, and to be honest, anything to shake up from the way I have been going would be good," Crawford said in the interview. "If they asked me to come and read, I would definitely do so."
