William Shakespeare's Romeo died for love and one Romeo in Italy has been jailed for being too good at making love.
A judge in a local Italy court in Padua sentenced 42-year-old Romeo Artemio Lori to six months in jail after neighbours complained that his girlfriend made a lot of noise during sex and that it disturbed them. Despite repeated requests to mellow down, the passion-filled couple continued with their loud love-making sessions.
Fed up with the noise, at least 12 neighbours decided to complain about them. A court heard the neighbours of Vigodarzere, Padua, that the couple's moaning and noises were so loud that it disturbed them. They said that the love-making session went on for over an hour. They claimed "the moans disturbed the peace in the condominium and the building's decorum," reports TGCom24.
The complainants cited the case as that of 'stalking' because of the way Romeo terrorised them with the loud noises.
However, Romeo said that he was being penalised for "being too good at sex" arguing that stalking and noises were two different things.
But for the judge, the neighbours' demand seemed "reasonable." He sentenced Romeo to six months in jail alone.
Romeo said he might appeal the sentence.
It is not the first time the any court punished someone for being too loud during sex. According to The Local, a woman in the United Kingdom was let go twice after she violated courted orders that ordered her not to shout, scream and moan during sex.
