Cronut Bakery Dominique Ansel Reopens After Health Department Closure Due to 'Mice Infestation' (VIDEO)

New York City's cronut bakery reopened on Tuesday, after a video of mice inside the kitchen caused a temporary shutdown by the Health Department.

Customers were seemingly unfazed by Friday's vermin scare at Dominique Ansel Bakery this week - the shop was crammed full of pastry enthusiasts, ABC reported.

The bakery concocted a new flavor in the wake of what the New York Health Department called a "mice infestation": the black-and-gold "Rocky" cronut.

"In the words of Rocky Balboa - whose theme song has been playing on our radio all weekend long while we worked to deliver everything that was required of us and more - 'getting hit and keep moving forward...that's how the winning is done!'" Dominique Ansel officials wrote on their Facebook page.

In the same statement, Ansel said that the store's wild success and huge following rendered it susceptible to "malicious attacks."

Officials first learned of the situation at the bakery last week, when a video titled "Dominique Ansel's Pet Mouse" was posted online.

In the footage, a small mouse can be seen running around the hardwood floor of the eatery, close to racks of baked goods.

"At the home of the cronut," the video description read. "So cute!!"

A representative from the bakery told TODAY.com that the Health Department came to call one day after the video was posted on YouTube.

"Not one, but four inspectors" showed up to the popular bakery, spokesperson Amy Ma said, adding that they "weren't given half a chance," before they were ordered to temporarily close up shop.

The bakery released a statement soon after the closure, encouraging patrons to consider their side.

"As a small, one-shop bakery, we often feel like we're being looked at under a tremendous microscope," the release read. "A lot of times, people don't see the larger ramifications of their actions and how a tiny video of a mouse running across the screen for three seconds can cause harm and damages to an honest, small business...We, of course, believe that we can run a clean and good operation, but see that we were targeted and will rise to the occasion to be even better."
