Selena Gomez was subpoenaed to appear in court for Justin Bieber's legal battle stemming from an incident with paparazzi, according to TMZ.

TMZ sources claim Gomez was a witness to the alleged paparazzi attack where Bieber supposedly kicked the man in the stomach.  The alleged incident occurred in Miami, Fla. where Bieber's lawyers claim she wasn't a witness.  However, the photographer's lawyers still want her as a witness to Bieber's alleged hatred of paparazzi.

Gomez, 21, has been under a microscope since Bieber's bad behavior made tabloid headlines.  The "Slow Down" singer checked herself into rehab to deal with emotional issues.  Gomez recently spoke about her rehab stay during We Day conference in Oakland, Calif., aimed to help motivate youth about making positive decisions, Hollywood Life reports.

"I am not an activist. I haven't changed the world or led a campaign," Selena told the conference crowd. "I'm here to just tell you my path so that you can hopefully take something away from it because I don't like being honest with press and interviews. I like being honest with you directly."

Gomez went on to explained the pressures she faced and how the people she surrounded herself with weren't necessarily looking out for her best interests.

"I'm surrounded by people who are supposed to guide me and some of them have and others haven't," she told the audience. "They pressure me, [saying] 'You gotta be sexy, you gotta be cute, you gotta be nice, you gotta be all these things.' You can all relate. You all have pressure that you have to deal with every day - with school, with work, with friends, with parents, with family. They tell me what to wear, how to look, what I should say, how I should be."

"Until recently, I had given into that pressure, I lost sight of who I was," she revealed, clearly getting choked up. "I listened to opinions of people and I tried to change who I am because I thought others would accept me for it. And I realized I don't know how to be anything but myself."

Gomez ended her speech claiming she has learned form her mistakes and proud she was able to get past the rough patches in her life.
