"Scandal" actor Columbus Short was reportedly arrested on Wednesday, Mar. 27 after he was accused of beating up a man at a Los Angeles bar. According to CNN, Short was taken into custody on battery charges.

He was booked by the Claremont Police Department and released on $50,000 bail. The 31-year-old was accused of punching a man unconscious at a West Los Angeles bar on Mar. 15, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a statement, CNN reports.

According to TMZ, Short was at an engagement party when a man said something to him about his wife and he reportedly hit the man breaking his nose. The bar brawl left the unnamed patron in the hospital. According to the site, cops are currently investigating the fight.

This is not the first time Short has been arrested because of a physical altercation. In 2010, Short was accused of breaking a man's jaw during a basketball game. Jason Hill ended up getting a restraining order against the Hollywood star.

According to TMZ, part of Short's sentence was three years' probation. He and his wife have also gotten into some pretty heated arguments, according to reports. In February the actor was reportedly arrested for physically attacking his wife at their Woodland Hills home.

Legal documents said that Short and his wife were arguing and the fight turned physical. Their two young children witnessed the entire thing. TMZ reports that he was charged with spousal battery and child abuse because his witnessed the fight.

He recently pled not guilty. A few weeks after that incident Short was reportedly arrested again in Chatsworth, CA. for getting into an argument with his wife. A police report said he allegedly shoved her.

Short plays Harrison Wright, one of the members of Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) team on ABC's "Scandal."
