YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States will see higher bills starting with their June 2026 billing cycle, as Google raises prices across several plans by up to $4 per month.

The individual YouTube Premium plan is increasing from $13.99 to $15.99 per month, a $2 hike that applies to both new and existing subscribers in the U.S.

New customers began paying the updated rate when the changes were announced in April 2026, while existing users will see the new price reflected in their June statements after receiving at least 30 days' notice by email.

YouTube said the new pricing will be charged in the first billing cycle that occurs at least 30 days after the increase takes effect, according to Android Headlines.

Google Raises YouTube Premium Plan Prices

The YouTube Premium family plan, which covers up to six accounts, is seeing the largest jump, rising from $22.99 to $26.99 per month, an increase of $4.

Several outlets report that subscribers have received notices outlining the updated $26.99 monthly charge and the date in June when it will be applied. According to these notices, many family-plan customers will see the higher rate on early-June billing dates.

Other tiers are also affected, including YouTube Premium Lite, YouTube Music Premium, and the student plan. Premium Lite, which offers ad-free viewing and downloads for most videos without including music, is going from $7.99 to $8.99 per month, a $1 increase.

YouTube Music Premium is rising from $10.99 or $11 to $11.99 or $12 per month depending on prior pricing, representing about a $1 hike, while the student Premium plan is increasing from $7.99 to $8.99 per month, IGN reported.

The latest adjustments mark YouTube Premium's first major U.S. price increase since mid-2023, when the service previously raised rates for several plans.

Affecting All Main Paid Tiers

Reports note that Google communicated the changes primarily through direct emails to subscribers rather than a large public announcement. Reports note that all main paid tiers in the U.S. are affected, with increases ranging from $1 to $4 per month depending on the plan.

For current subscribers, the new rates will apply automatically unless they cancel before their next billing date in June 2026. Users who remain subscribed will continue to receive existing Premium benefits such as ad-free playback, background listening, offline downloads, and access to YouTube Music, where included with their tier.

Industry reports indicate that the price changes bring YouTube Premium's top family offering close to $27 per month, placing it near the higher end of major streaming subscription prices in the U.S., as per Business Insider.
