United States Customs officers discovered at least 100 immigrants inside a one-bathroom Houston south side home.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers told Click2Houston that the residence, located in the 14700 block of Almeda School Road, is believed to be a stash house.
ICE authorities responded to a call at the home on Wednesday morning, where they found more than 100 people, including a group of pregnant women. All of the people in the residence were held for questioning, Click2Houston reported.
Members of the Houston Police Department said they found 94 men and 15 women being detained against their will in the one-bathroom home.
Click2Houston reported that the ages of the people inside the home ranged from five to 50 years old.
Officials immediately transferred the pregnant women to nearby hospitals for medical attention and treatment, if needed.
Police said the men were in their underwear, and weren't wearing any shoes. Some officials suspected this could have been a measure to keep them from running away from the house. All doors to the residence were locked from the outside.
Three people inside the residence were taken into police custody, after they attempted fleeing from law enforcement.
Several agencies have been tasked with the probe into this curious home - the Houston Police Department, the United States Immigraion and Customs Enforcement and the Harris County Sheriff's Office among them.
This is a developing story. Check back for more details.
