New Jersey Woman Arrested After Attacking Nail Salon Employee With Polish Remover

A New Jersey nail salon shifted from a place of leisure and relaxation to the site of an attack on Friday.

According to the Associated Press, a disgruntled customer who had just gotten her nails done at a salon in southern New Jersey assaulted an employee with acetone nail polish remover.

Police who were sent to the scene reported that the woman, 29-year-old Bridgeton resident Hakera Cochran, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and a weapons offense.

Cochran allegedly attacked two nail technicians working at the Mei Holiday Nails on East Commerce Street using nail polish remover.

Police reported that Cochran had gone to the salon a few hours before to get her nails done, but came back later the same day complaining that a nail had already broken.

Law enforcement officials wrote in Cochran's report that the Bridgeton resident returned to the nail shop in a rage, yelling at the employees to fix her broken nail immediatly.

Cochran continued raising her voice, even though multiple members of staff in the salon requested that she calm down.

The employees' efforts to subdue Cochran only made her more angry, NJ.com reported. She then allegedly grabbed a bottle of nail polish remover and threw some in two of the employees' faces.

Neither of the victims were admitted to a hospital, and received treatment for their wounds on-site.

Cochran has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and aggravated assault.
