In celebration of International Dance Day, two robotic dogs are delighting viewers with a special treat.

Boston Dynamics has released a video of its robot dog, Spot, befriending and doing some serious dancing with another mechanical canine up in a sparkly costume in its warehouse.

Clad in a vibrant blue, hairy, and glittery costume, Spot meets "Sparkles".

The magic behind this transformation is Boston Dynamics' Choreographer software, which empowers Spot and Sparkles to groove to the beat with fluidity and grace.

The video is intended to "explore the intersections of robotics, art and entertainment", according to the company.

Choreographer is a tool for authoring and controlling Spot's movements more flexibly than typical robotic engineering allows, "bridg[ing] the gap between the creative process of a traditional choreographer and the technical process of programming a robot," according to Boston Dynamics.
