Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs (L) celebrates with Taylor Swift after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game at M&T Bank Stadium on January 28, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland. Kelce is reportedly in talks to host a rebooted version of the game show "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?"

Travis Kelce, the Super Bowl champion NFL football star and boyfriend of pop megastar Taylor Swift, is reportedly eying a new job: Hosting a reboot of the popular 2000s game show "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?"

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end reportedly is in talks to take up the hosting mantle in the future. This would mark a return to reality television for Kelce, who previously was the subject of a dating show called "Catching Kelce." In the last year, the already successful athlete's profile has skyrocketed due to his romance with Taylor Swift — a relationship which also resulted in increased ratings for NFL games.

Individuals involved in discussions about the potential new gig say that there are some concerns about whether Kelce, 34,  could balance hosting the show with his professional football career, according to Variety.

"Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader" originally aired on Fox from 2007 to 2009, before being rebooted for Nickelodeon in 2019. Contestants are asked trivia questions that are lifted from elementary school textbooks and can seek help from a panel of actual schoolchildren.

Some fans on social media took the announcement as an oppertunity to poke fun at Kelce's own academic prowess.

"There should be a requirement that you are, in fact, smarter than a fifth grader in order to host the show," read one post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

"Is he even smarter than a fifth grader," another user questioned, in a tweet that garnered more than 1,000 likes.

During the game show's original run it was hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, while professional wrestler John Cena took over during its Nickelodeon reboot. Kelce appears to be increasingly moving in entertainment - including making an appearance on Saturday Night Live and co-hosting a podcast with his brother, fellow NFL star Jason Kelce.
