Kremlin's involvement?

On February 16, Navalny, who was 47 years old, passed away in a correctional camp in the Arctic. Reportedly, the official cause of death was listed as natural causes on his death certificate.

Navalny's allies claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his assassination because he could not stand the idea of the opposition leader's release in a possible prisoner exchange.

The Kremlin has rejected any official participation in Navalny's death and claimed ignorance of any deal to liberate him before he died. The Kremlin portrays Navalny and his followers as radicals sponsored by the United States.

Earlier this week, Navalny's mother claimed that the authorities were attempting to blackmail her for trying to arrange a private burial for her son by initially withholding his remains.

According to Reuters, Navalny's supporters previously reported that their search for a place to gather his supporters in a farewell ceremony had been met with rejection at every turn.
