Deputies identified the suspect as a certain Electra Schrock, who allegedly forced her way into Sheen's home, attempted to strangle him, and ripped his shirt during the attack, TMZ reported.

Paramedics were also called at the scene, but Sheen was not taken to hospital.

Schrock has been taken into custody at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday (December 22).

Sheen's TV Return

The assault on Sheen came after his return to television. Earlier this month, he called his TV return "surreal" after dealing with drug addiction and alcohol abuse.

Sheen was starring in the new TV series "Bookie," where he reunited with "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre to portray a fictional version of himself alongside comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, who plays a Los Angeles bookie.
