Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and X, speaks to reporters as he leaves the “AI Insight Forum” at the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill on September 13, 2023, in Washington, DC. Lawmakers are seeking input from business leaders in the artificial intelligence sector.

Elon Musk posted a live stream via his official X account. As of writing, the video already generated almost 50 million views and more than 470,000 likes, 23,000 comments, as well as 84,000 retweets.

According to Reuters' latest report, the tech executive visited the border while thousands of migrants have been venturing to northern Mexico in the past few days.

They were traveling via buses and trains. Some of these asylum seekers are crossing the U.S. border into Arizona, Texas, and California.

Elon Musk arrived at the Texas-Mexico border wearing a black cowboy hat and black t-shirt. He said that he would roam around the area to speak with officials and "eyeball the situation to get the real story."

"This is real-time, unfiltered. What you see is what I see," said the billionaire.

While livestreaming, the billionaire shared that he is also an immigrant. This is why it supports asylum seekers who are trying to have a better life in the U.S.

But, he said that there should be an expanded immigration that will filter the honest and hardworking migrants from the law-breaking immigrants.

He also talked about one of his fears, which is the flow of illegal immigrants leading to the collapse of social services in the United States.

"We want to do both things - smooth out legal immigration and stop a flow of people that is of such magnitude that we're leading to a collapse of social services," explained the billionaire.
