Michael B Jordan is unfazed by the criticism he received after it was announced that he will play Johnny Storm/the Human Torch in Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot. Fans lashed out on Twitter and Facebook to express their dislike with a black actor being cast in an originally white role.

"Michael B Jordan (black) is playing as the Jonny storm/human torch in fantastic four. Wait Kate Mara is Sue Storm n white. Is he adopted," @Aurry tweeted.

"Michael b Jordan can't play the Torch in fantastic four... torch is the one girls brother. And they casted a white girl," @SwuiztheProd wrote.

"Michael B Jordan as the Human Torch. What the f**k? Give the movie rights back to Marvel," @m_reticent commented.

TMZ caught up with the actor and asked him what he thought about all the negative comments. Jordan's response: "They're still going to go see it anyway."

The 27-year-old seemed to be completely unaffected by the backlash. The rest of the reboot cast was also announced and includes Kate Mara as the Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic and Jamie Bell as the Thing, The Guardian reports.

According to Variety, both Mara and Jordan have already finalized their deals for their roles while deals for Teller and Bell are reportedly still being negotiated. There were rumors that the role of Dr. Doom was still going to be a villain and that it was going to be filled by a big-name star but the character would be gender-switched.

Trank responded to the rumor on Twitter saying that it was absolutely not true.

"The THR gender speculation is also bulls**t. Next," he wrote.

"Fantastic Four" is expected to hit theaters June 19, 2015.
