Two people were shot dead around 12:30 a.m. on Friday after four others were killed on Thursday in Indianapolis, totalling seven dead with investigators scrambling to find the suspects behind them, according to the Associated Press.
The two deaths on Friday came on the heels of a quadruple homicide on the city's Southeast Side late Thursday, the AP reported.
Lieutenant Chris Bailey of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said police found two men inside a home on Stuart Street, according to the AP.
Michael Whitfield, 27, and Lorenzo Clark Jr., 22, both of Indianapolis inside the home, the AP reported.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Bailey, the AP reported. The other died after being taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
"Detectives have very little information about what led to this shooting," Bailey said in a news release, according to the AP.
Police spokesman Sgt. Kendale Adams said the four victims in Thursday's homicide are two men and two women, and Bailey said the motive and circumstances of the shootings in the home on South Parker Avenue are unknown at this time, the AP reported.
The slain women are ages 21 and 22, while the men are 43 and 47, the AP reported. Police say they are all from Indianapolis but haven't specified whether any of them lived at the house or their relationships.
Bailey says the two men and two women found dead Thursday night were all shot, the AP reported.
In the first killing of the period, Quinton Nance, 16, of Indianapolis, was shot about 4:50 p.m. on Thursday in the 600 block of East 23rd Street, just west of College Avenue, the AP reported.
Bailey also added there are no motives or any suspects in custody for any of the seven murders happening in the city's south side since Thursday, according to the AP.
Bailey said people who knew the victims saw their bodies and called 911 at about 8 p.m., according to the AP.
