FBI officials refused to produce the unclassified document that allegedly links Joe Biden to a cash-for-access "criminal bribery."

The FBI refused again to comply with a subpoena issued by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer for a document that purportedly details a pay-to-play scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden.

During a briefing with the Oversight Committee, FBI staff refused to release the unclassified FD-1023 document detailing an informant's criminal allegations against Biden, age 80.

Joe Biden Allegedly Took Bribes as VP

This week, Comer (R-Kentucky) is anticipated to disclose the panel's next actions in its search for the document. Congress has the authority to reduce funding for federal agencies and use litigation to enforce subpoenas. To exert pressure, the Republican-led House of Representatives could also seek to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt or initiate impeachment proceedings.

Comer previously set a deadline of May 10 for the bureau to comply with the request for the FD-1023 document, which reportedly pertains to allegations of bribery involving Biden in a nation where the family had two significant business ventures.

A previous source of knowledge of the situation informed The Post that the country is not China. The FBI's Biden file is believed to have been created or updated in June 2020, and its existence was initially disclosed by a whistleblower to Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), who notified Comer.

During Joe Biden's tenure as vice president, Hunter, and James Biden conducted business in Mexico, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, and China. The FBI responded to Comer's subpoena by sending the com a six-page letter.

After speaking with FBI Director Chris Wray, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy stated that the FBI is poised to hand over the potentially incriminating document. He verified that he spoke with Wray by phone and added, "Congress has the right and the authority to superintend the FBI."

Comer and Senator Charles Grassley sent a letter to Wray on Friday evening, nine days after the deadline had passed, labeling the situation "unacceptable."

Republicans claim that the internal FD-1023 form details an arrangement for the exchange of money for policy decisions. The Republicans issued a subpoena to FBI Director Christopher Wray with a deadline of May 10 at noon, but the document was not produced.

Grassley stated that although the FBI was unable to provide the document, they did offer an accommodation procedure that indicates the authenticity of the document. He explained that last week's response letter to the top Republicans only raises more concerns, such as whether the FBI has an active investigation into these allegations.

The FBI verified to DailyMail.com that it provided a response to the Republicans last week but disputed Grassley's assertion that the response proves the existence of the specific document alleged by the whistleblower.

The subpoena for the document signaled an important development in the Republican "influence-peddling" investigation into the Biden family and came just hours after a report claimed prosecutors were close to determining whether to criminally charge Hunter Biden in his tax and gun investigations.

Biden Family's 'Shady' Business Deals

Iam Sams, the White House's spokesperson for oversight and investigations, deemed the subpoena for the document issued by the Republican Party to be "unfounded" and "politically motivated."

Sams added that Biden's level of transparency in disclosing a total of 25 years of tax returns to the American public was "unprecedented."

The House Oversight Committee has accused ten members of the Biden family, including Hunter and Hallie, of profiting from shady business transactions involving the family name. In early May, the committee issued a new memorandum detailing the Biden family's ties to Romanian 'influence peddling' and a network of LLCs created while Biden was vice president.

It also accused President Biden of a lack of transparency regarding his family's receipt of funds from China, which he has denied. According to a committee aide, the document details the family's efforts to hide, conceal, and confound the origins of money, including additional funds from China.

Many questions remain unanswered regarding the investigation and the laws Biden may have broken in connection with the alleged financial matter. According to Comer, the FBI informed the Oversight Committee prior to Monday's staff briefing that it could determine "how we can accommodate your request without defying our law enforcement and national security obligations."

Since winning the majority in November, House Republicans have accelerated their investigations into the Biden family's finances, as evidenced by Comer's subpoena, as per The Washington Examiner.

The congressman released a 36-page memo based on bank records indicating that the Biden family, including Hunter Biden, received $10 million from Chinese and Romanian accounts while Joe Biden was vice president.
