Tech giant Samsung has released its latest advertisement - a spot for the new Galaxy Tab Pro that pokes fun at Apple's "Pencil" ad for the iPad Air.
The South Korea-based company has recently mocked Apple ads for its various marketing campaigns, including a string of 2012 spots that parodied the thousands of Apple customers who waited in line for the newest iPhone, according to Apple Insider.
The advertisement, which Samsung officials posted onto their YouTube channel on Wednesday, starts by panning slowly onto a pencil sitting on a table. The voiceover describes the pencil as "extremely pointy," making light of the more serious, romantic narration tone in Apple's commercial. The camera then zooms in further, showing an iPad Air next to the pencil. As it moves even closer, Samsung's tablet comes onto the screen.
"Ah, the even thinner Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1," the narrator says, continuing on by describing how much thinner Samsung's product is when compared to the iPad.
The Samsung commercial then goes on to highlight features such as the slate's 2,560-pixel-by-1,600 pixel screen, which is described as a boon due to its capacity "for more robo-beatdown action." The new tablet's multi-tasking screen, which allows the user to, say, watch a video while simultaneously sending an email, is then displayed.
The commercial ends with the narrator opting to take both the Samsung tablet and the pencil, leaving the iPad all by its lonesome on the table.
Samsung recently came under fire for its Galaxy Gear smartwatch commercial in October, 2013. Critics chastised the Seoul-based company for taking Apple's iPhone advertisement from 2007 and recreating it, shot for shot.
According to Apple Insider, the smartwatch advertisement was so closely related to Apple's that Samsung even used a similar Flintstones clip for its spot.
Watch Samsung's commercial below, then compare it to Apple's.
