Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a 28-year-old transgender ex-student, allegedly killed three 9-year-olds and three adults at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. Police in Nashville have released bodycam footage of their response to the incident, during which they killed Hale.

A woman informed Nashville Officer Rex Engelbert, as he grabbed a gun from the back of his police SUV, "The kids are all locked down, but we have two kids that we don't know where they are."

Moments later, he opens a side door and leads the charge inside the building as sirens blare. Three minutes into the six-minute video, gunfire brought the officers rushing up the stairs to the second level. After that, they inspected the classrooms with determined urgency, Fox News reported.

Approximately 25 seconds later, Hale was fatally shot, stopping the rampage. Officers Engelbert and Michael Collazo were credited for their active participation in the response, and their bodycam footage was released in a single piece. Both sides opened fire. When Engelbert is shown first subduing the suspect, Collazo rushes in as Hale is ordered to lower his firearm and stop moving.

The school shooter in Nashville was "under doctor's care for an emotional disorder," according to police chief John Drake, and she hid seven lawfully acquired firearms in her family home. According to Chief Drake, three firearms were used in the horrifying occurrence. Hale's parents knew she owned one firearm but believed she had sold it and possessed no more guns.

According to The Independent, he noted that the police department "knew nothing" about the therapy but that "her parents believed she should not own guns."

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) previously released surveillance camera footage of Hale, 28, arriving at the Covenant School in the Green Hills suburb of the southern city in a silver Honda Fit, parking, and then proceeding towards the school before entering through a side door and opening fire on staff and students.

Nine-year-old students Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, William Kinney, headmistress Katherine Koonce, 60, and staff members Cynthia Peak and Mike Hill, 61, perished in the incident. The suspect, who was equipped with two assault-style rifles and a pistol, was a former student at the school, according to the police. Hale deliberately planned the attack and may have held "resentment" against the institution.

Nashville Shooting Suspect Audrey Hale Had 'Emotional Disorder'

The Daily Beast was told by a person close to the Hale family that the shooter was autistic but high-functioning; however, police could not corroborate this immediately. Drake disclosed Hale's transgender status at a previous Monday press conference; however, whether the suspect identified as a male or a woman was unclear.

When asked if Hale's identification may have influenced the motivation, Drake responded, "There is a theory, and we are investigating all leads."

On several social media sites, Hale employed male pronouns and the name Aiden. The mass murderer, attired in a backward red hat, military fatigue leggings, and a dark vest, was recorded earlier on security camera casually roaming the corridors seeking victims as police rushed to the scene.

According to the police, Hale gained entrance to the school by firing through the building's side glass doors. After unleashing a reign of terror, the attacker fired on responding cops from a second-story window, where she was eventually captured.

A search of Hale's home revealed a detailed school map, including possible entrance points. Per NY Post, Drake stated that the shooter performed surveillance of the premises before carrying out the attack.
