Michigan Mom Reported to Child Services

The suspect Mia A. Morrow, 35, was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in the state prison when she pled guilty to the murder in August. Convicted for a single count of second-degree murder in the slaying of Jaxson Morrow, reported Law & Crime.

Her husband Brian R. Morrow and Mia got arrested in June 2022, and he got on one count of first-degree murder with possession of controlled substances linked to Jaxson's death. The charge of Mia was lessened after a plea deal to have a 25-year sentence from 50 years, remarked prosecutors. Brian, a month ago, had not contested the second-degree murder charge and is to be sentenced a month from now.

Judge LaSata had been harsh to the woman for not doing anything to help her son with autism. She watched the boy wither away. He spoke to Herald Palladium and told them she was supposed to protect him, which confused him why it was not done, so he died at eight years old at only 31 pounds.

Mother Kills Son Out of Frustration

A 911 call originated from the family residence at the 700 block of Columbia Avenue address on May 3, 2022. First responders were at the scene to find the boy on the couch in the living room, whose first impression is that he was emancipated and lifeless for a while.

Reports stated the coroner did an autopsy to discover that it was murder caused by neglecting the victim, per WBND.

Police said the mom saw her son having difficulty breathing before dying and admitted not bringing him to the hospital, but it's too late, based on the information, said an outlet. Why they did not report the death of Jaxson a day before would have perplexed the authorities if it was not for the grandmother, who visited and saw the child dead, prompted a 911 call.

Investigators on the case would pursue why the Morrows wanted to hide the death of their son. Mia claimed that she wanted to stay with him longer. Her husband added that he allowed his wife time before the police came to their house.

Both were tested for substances and got a hit for being positive for taking meth. But more info came to light that Child Protective Services (CPS) went over to the Morrow residence after reports of mistreatment of Jaxson. The couple decided to stop sending the boy with special needs to LOGAN Autism Learning Center. Allegedly the center was calling the CPS for their supposed mistreatment of the boy.

Brian Morrow's daughter confirmed more evidence of the maltreatment, saying when she lived with them, she saw their abuse. They didn't like that he smelt urine, locked him up in his room, and starved him to near death.
