Florida Legislative Intern Ryan Uhre's Body Found in Tallahassee Building, Police Confirm Remains Belong to Man Missing Since Super Bowl Sunday

A body found in Tallahassee has been confirmed as belonging to Florida State University graduate Ryan Uhre, who disappeared earlier this month.

Officials from the Tallahassee Police Department told the Associated Press on Tuesday that the remains, indeed, were of 23-year-old Uhre, who was last seen leaving a bar where he'd been watching the Super Bowl with his friends.

The Weston resident was found inside a Tallahassee building this week, police spokesperson Dave Northway informed reporters from the Tallahassee Democrat.

It's unclear whether Uhre's death was homicidal or accidental, AP reported.

"We have no suspicion of foul play at this point," Northway told the Democrat. "But we are keeping it open and active, and we will do everything we can in order to find the cause of death for Mr. Uhre."

Uhre vanished on Feb. 2 and was officially reported missing five days later. Witnesses and friends last saw him at Andrew's Capital Grill and Bar in Tallahassee wearing a tropical-style button down with a surfing Santa Claus print.

Video surveillance from businesses captured Uhre walking around downtown. Police identified the Weston native's whereabouts when they spied a window that was once boarded up on camera.

When news of the 23-year-old's disappearance surfaced, Uhre's family and loved ones posted signs, sent fliers around, and searched on foot for the missing man. A few hundred members of the community also assembled in Fort Lauderdale beach to pray that Uhre would return.

Uhre, who worked as an intern for Florida Rep. Richard Stark, graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He then went on to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Stark released a statement on the matter after speaking with reporters, Tuesday.

"Ryan's family, friends and coworkers are in our thoughts and prayers in this time of grief," he wrote, urging all to "keep Ryan's family in your prayers."
