Annie Wersching Cause of Death Revealed

Annie Wersching, well known for her performances in '24,' 'Bosch,' 'The Vampire Diaries,' and 'Marvel's Runaways,' has passed away at 45.

Actress Annie Wersching died of cancer early on Sunday morning. Her publicist, Craig Schneider, confirmed the news. Wersching reached the age of 45.

She is well recognized for her role as FBI agent Renee Walker in the television series 24.

Wersching also provided the voice for Tess in the video game 'The Last of Us.' The creative director of the upcoming HBO Max series 'The Last of Us' based on the game, Neil Druckmann, tweeted about Wesching's demise.

'Handmaid's Tale' actress Ever Carradine created a GoFundMe for Annie Wesching's children and spouse "so they may continue to live their lives in a way that would make Annie proud."

Throughout the 2000s and the 2010s, Wersching often appeared in television dramas. She played Amelia Joffe in the ABC soap opera General Hospital in 2007. In 2008, she starred opposite Kiefer Sutherland in the seventh and eighth seasons of the hit Fox television series 24 as FBI agent Renee Walker, according to News18.

Wersching's other prominent television roles include Harry Bosch's (Titus Welliver) love interest on Amazon Prime's 2014 series 'Bosch' and the antagonistic vampire Lily Salvatore on the CW's 'The Vampire Diaries.'

In 2022, when Wersching portrayed the Borg Queen in 'Star Trek: Picard,' she routinely posted images of herself in full costume alongside comments of appreciation to the makeup and prosthetics technicians that turned her into the cosmic menace.

IMDb lists Wersching's role in 'Star Trek Picard,' which airs on Paramount+, as one of her most recent professional roles. According to her spokesperson, Wersching passed early Sunday morning in Los Angeles following a fight with cancer. The cancer type was not disclosed, as per The Republic World.

Tributes For Annie Wersching

The creator of 'The Last of Us,' Neil Druckmann, remarked on Twitter, "We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her family and friends."Abigail Spencer, who co-starred with Wersching on the science-fiction television series 'Timeless,' tweeted, "We love you, Annie Wersching. You will be missed dearly."

Wersching, born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, has been on dozens of television programs over her two-decade career. Wershing was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and continued to work. Her husband, the actor Stephen Full, and three boys survive her.

Per OK!, Annie Wersching's career extended more than two decades, during which she collaborated with legends such as Sir Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, and Alyssa Milano.

Paul Wesley, who portrays Annie Wersching's son in 'The Vampire Diaries,' turned to Instagram, where he posted a photo of them both with the following caption: "I am deeply saddened to hear of Annie Wersching's passing. Make a donation to the GoFundMe page created in her honor."

Doug Jones, a legendary Hollywood actor in everything from Hocus Pocus to Star Trek, wrote, "A true loss to our Trek family, and television. May she rest in God's peace."

Under Annie Wersching's husband's first post, dancer Julianne Hough replied with a love heart emoji, while former co-star Nina Dobrev re-posted the image with a broken heart emoji.
