Hunter Biden, the son of United States President Joe Biden, is facing claims that he paid roughly $50,000 in monthy rent payments for his father's Delaware home, where classified documents were recently found.

Hunter Biden, the son of United States President Joe Biden, allegedly paid his father $50,000 in rent every month to live in the Democrat's Delaware home where classified documents were recently found.

In a Jan. 17 Instagram post, Newsmax host Carl Higbie accused Hunter of giving his dad $50,000 to rent the home when, at the same time, the president only claimed that there was $20,000 in rent payments made per year.

Furthermore, former United States President Donald Trump posted on Facebook, saying that Tucker Carlson, the host of Fox News, dug up bombshell documents that proved Hunter rented the top-secret documents that his Democratic rival stole, he claims.

However, while these posts quickly spread among supporters of the former president, the information provided is inaccurate and was subsequently flagged as part of Facebook's continuous efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its news feed, as per PolitiFact.

The accusations took off after the Fox News host ran a segment on Jan. 16 regarding the newly-surfaced background screening document Hunter purportedly filled out in July 2018. It was part of an application for a rental property in California and appeared to have contained some things that needed to be corrected.

While it remained unclear whether or not Hunter filled out all the forms on July 27, 2018, emails provided by a former Trump White House employee revealed that Hunter's former assistant filled out the application.

The date of an email with the subject "background app" matches the date when the form was signed. Furthermore, it followed a separate email that Hunter appears to have sent out inquiring about a rental in California.

Joe Biden's Classified Documents

One Twitter user questioned why the president's 2017 tax returns did not declare the roughly $50,000 rent payments listed under his son's name. The chair of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, confirmed in a letter to White House counsel that the address seen on Hunter's driver's license is the same as where the classified documents were found, according to Newsweek.

Comer said that Americans had a right to know who visited President Biden's Wilmington residence and who had access to the classified documents. On the other hand, Hunter has indicated that the Delaware residence was a personal asset and was his residence as recently as 2018.

Carlson also credited a Twitter user, @jj_talking, a self-described "MAGA" supporter responsible for sharing Hunter's background check. The Fox News host also questioned how the president's son, a disgraced drug addict with no job skills, could have so much financial capital.

In a memoir published in April 2021, Hunter said that he and other close family members were forced to quarantine on November 3, 2020, at his father's Delaware home. He was also seen traveling with the president to the Wilmington home on Dec. 16, 2022, only a few days before the classified documents were discovered, said Yahoo News.
