Police Say Migos Rapper Takeoff Is an Innocent Bystander Before His Tragic Death; Suspect Arrested in Houston

According to the Houston Police Department, rapper Takeoff was a "innocent bystander" when he was killed, and a man has been arrested and charged as a result.

On Monday, the defendant who is accused of killing rapper TakeOff of the Migos is scheduled to return to court.

Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, and his attorney will appear before a judge in Houston for a preliminary court hearing more than a month after TakeOff was shot and died.

Migos Rapper Takeoff's Killer Arrested

Clark requested a court-appointed attorney and identified himself as a self-employed DJ with no income in a court document.

The night TakeOff was slain, Clark was allegedly seen on surveillance footage shooting a revolver while holding a wine bottle outside the 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley. According to the prosecution, a different camera captured him close up with the gun before making off in a car.

Clark's bond was set at $2 million at a prior court proceeding after the prosecution painted him as a flight risk. As per Michael Burrow, a sergeant with the Homicide Division, an altercation broke out outside of a private party that included a lucrative dice game, and that's when the shooting happened.

Takeoff was not involved in the shooting or the dice game and was not armed. Burrow affirmed, He was an innocent bystander. Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff's member Kirsnik Khari Ball, also known as Takeoff, perished in the shooting on November 1. He was 28.

The rapper's primary cause of death was stated as penetrating gunshot wounds of the head and body into arm by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, which classified Takeoff's death as a homicide. At the time of the incident, according to Finner, at least two people fired shots, and two further people were struck and had non-life-threatening wounds. They were transported to hospitals in private vehicles.

Another Man Arrested in Connection with Takeoff's Death

Despite initial internet rumors to the contrary, he is not thought to have fired his illegal weapon during the sad shooting that claimed Takeoff's life.

On November 11, Takeoff (actual name Kirsnick Khari Ball) was laid to rest in his hometown of Atlanta's State Farm Arena. At the annual Miami Beach Art Basel on December 1st, Offset paid tribute to him while performing. On Metro Boomin's recently released Heroes & Villains, Takeoff's first posthumous verse originally appeared on Friday, as per Uproxx.
