The Biden administration is reportedly expanding its staff in preparation for a potential assault of Republican-led investigations centered on first-son Hunter Biden.

Taxpayers are footing the price as the White House prepares for an expanding army of personnel to stave off prospective Republican-led investigations into everything from Hunter Biden.

The White House is paying staff $265,000 a year in salary for staff whose primary responsibility will be to run communications and defend the administration from an oncoming blizzard of subpoenas to batten down the hatches should the GOP win back control of the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections.

Staff to Defend POTUS, First Son

Richard A. Sauber, the Department of Veterans Affairs senior lawyer, was kidnapped by the White House in May to work as a deputy counsel to the president in charge of managing House oversight inquiries. The team hired Ian Sams, a veteran of Vice President Harris' unsuccessful 2020 presidential campaign, to handle official communications.

According to White House records, the two men will each receive $110,000 and $155,000 in compensation. The Washington Post reported that the squad is only anticipated to expand, meaning that its employees and operating costs would skyrocket.

Republicans in the House have promised to look into everything, including the cause of the COVID-19 and the hasty pullout of the US military from Afghanistan.

The primary focus of the party's investigation will be on Hunter Biden and any ties his father, PresidentJoe Biden, may have had to his dubious international business transactions. Despite mounting evidence that suggests this is not the case, President Biden has continuously denied any such links, according to New York Post.

Should his party retake the majority in the lower house, Rep. Jim Comer (R-Ky.) is likely to lead the oversight committee. He claimed that Hunter Biden's past and present issues, such as his drug addiction and paternity litigation, have little to do with the Republican attention on him. And it has everything to do with protecting American interests.

Comer, who recently referred to the younger Biden as a national security concern, is determined to look into the family's connections to foreign companies, which he thinks may involve peddling access. Comer has requested more information from the Treasury Department, but they have not yet provided it. Should Republicans regain a majority this fall, Hunter won't be the only issue they'll be closely examining.

They also want to look into Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of homeland security, the botched US military withdrawal from Afghanistan, the origins of the COVID-19 virus, the subsequent COVID-19 school closures, administration discussions about weapon sales to Ukraine, and the expenditure of taxpayer funds on the January 6 select committee's work and products.

The Justice Department's authorization of an FBI raid of former President Donald Trump's southern club property, Mar-a-Lago, was most recently added to that list. Republicans see Hunter Biden as a window into the supposedly corrupt actions of the first family, therefore he will continue to be a major issue for the Biden White House, as per Daily Mail.

Could Hunter Biden Face Charges?

Hunter Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, is being investigated by federal officials, Police have gathered sufficient proof to charge him with tax violations and lying about the acquisition of a handgun. The 52-year-old Hunter Biden, according to the agents, lied about his history of substance misuse on a form used to obtain a pistol in 2018, The Washington Post said, citing people familiar with the situation.

Hunter is said to have falsely denied using illegal substances or having a drug addiction on the form. Hunter, the lone surviving child of the US president, has been open about his battle with alcohol and illegal drugs. Prosecutions for making false representations on gun purchase paperwork do happen, though they are uncommon, a $250,000 fine and up to 10 years in jail are associated with the offense.

While his father was vice president, agents from the federal government started looking into the younger Biden's international business dealings with a Ukrainian gas company. However, they focused on two potential offenses.

The choice of whether to press charges against Hunter is particularly difficult because former president Donald Trump and his allies have used the first son's business affairs as a major point of attack against Democrats in the run-up to the November midterm elections.

Republicans have pushed the Biden administration to name a special counsel to lead the investigation into Hunter, contending that doing so is necessary to maintain public trust in the investigation's findings. Trump has asserted time and time again that a left-wing media plot has stopped news about Hunter Biden from making headlines, The Telegraph via MSN reported.
