After divorcing Camila Morrone a few months after her 25th birthday, Leonardo DiCaprio seems to have debunked a long-held theory about his love life.

After five years together, Leonardo DiCaprio and his model-turned-actress girlfriend Camila Morrone are breaking up.

According to a source close to the actor, the 25-year-old beauty and the 47-year-old Academy Award winner quietly ended their relationship early this summer. The actor from 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' has a reputation for never dating women older than 25. The most recent breakup appears to confirm this.

Leonardo DiCaprio Allegedly Has Love Preference

As reported by insiders close to DiCaprio, he and Camila Morrone have recently become less close. The 12-year-old Camila was initially introduced to the Revenant star, who is 22 years her senior, back in 2008. The introductions were made by his old friend Al Pacino, who had dated Camila's mother Lucila Solá for many years; Leonardo and the family reportedly stayed friends for many years.

Following his separation with model Nina Agdal just days before the Cannes Film Festival, Leonardo and Camila began dating in earnest sometime in 2017, albeit their respective reps first denied their relationship. When they attended Ellen DeGeneres' birthday party together the following year, the two made their relationship more widely known. They were seen getting close at Coachella later that year..

An unnamed insider claimed to People later that year that the pair were extremely in love and serious and had talked about getting engaged, indicating that the relationship had become more serious. The informant claimed that Leo had never loved a female like this and that he had even considered starting a family with his new partner.

Leonardo DiCaprio's resolve to keep their relationship private was put to the test in 2019 when both of their films had their world premieres at Cannes. The two did not walk together at either screening, and he did not refer to her as his girlfriend while he was at the festival. He was there to promote his Quentin Tarantino film 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,' while she was there to promote her critically praised drama 'Mickey And The Bear,' as per Daily Mail.

Although some fans are happy to see Leonardo DiCaprio back on the dating scene, many others are adamant that this breakup supports a dubious hypothesis regarding the actor's dating tastes. Leo has always preferred women in their early 20s, even as he approaches his 50th birthday if you look at his dating history.

He was associated with well-known ladies in his 20s like Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, but when he entered his 30s and beyond, it became obvious that he preferred younger women. He famously dated Bar Rafaeli until 2010, and he dated supermodel Gisele Bundchen in the early 2000s, although they broke up before they were 26. Leo dated Blake Lively for a short time when she was 23 and he was 36; he then moved on to Erin Heatherton when she was 22; and from 2013 to 2014, he was with Toni Garrin; however, they broke up when she was just 21 and he was 39.

Leo was associated with Kelly Rohrbach, who was 25 at the time, and Nina Agdal, who was 25 when they broke up, more recently. At the time, Leo was 42. The pattern gave birth to the hypothesis that DiCaprio has a dating age cap and won't date women older than 25. However, many of the actor's admirers have dismissed this notion as absurd.

Just a few months before she and Leo parted ways, Camila Morrone turned 25 in June, which only served to feed the speculations. Although the actor has never responded to the contentious allegations, his record of relationships seems to speak for itself, according to WHO.
