The stabbing happened at 3 am. According to police, the incident occurred Sunday outside a nightclub in Goose Green, a suburb in Altrincham in the wider Manchester region.

In accordance with authorities, a 21-year-old man was detained at the site and a 20-year-old guy was apprehended afterward, and both remain in prison. For years, the British government has attempted to minimize knife crime, which has been labeled as a national problem.

The government's Office for National Statistics, 49,000 offenses with knives or sharp objects occurred in England and Wales between March 2021 and March 2022, a 10% rise over the previous year. This is still less than the 55,000 documented knife crimes between March 2019 and March 2020, CNN reported.

Police are looking for further information after two men were stabbed outside an Altrincham bar. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said in a statement that officers were contacted just after 3 am today morning (Sunday, August 21, 2022) to reports of two males being stabbed outside a pub on Goose Green in Altrincham.

Tyson Fury Set to Come Out of Retirement

The emergency services were called. Two guys were brought to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fury, 34, was born in the Manchester suburb of Wythenshawe. Earlier this month, he declared his retirement from the sport. After beating Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in London last April, Fury, a two-time world heavyweight champion, announced his retirement from professional boxing, according to Fox News.

In a news conference today, Superintendent Ben Ewart described the attack as senseless, adding that the stabbing happened spontaneously and unplanned. Meanwhile, condolences have poured in for the once-promising boxer, who spent his adolescence training in Manchester.

"He was an unbelievable talent," said Shaun Egan, who previously taught Rico with his brother Steve at Jimmy Egan's Boxing Academy in Manchester. He was a wonderful young man who worked hard and had a fantastic sense of fun. Heavyweight champion Tyson, who is originally from Wythenshawe, confirmed his cousin's death on Instagram on Sunday morning. He went on to say that he had been stabbed near a poster that stated, 'Stop Knife Crime.'

At a news conference held at the scene today, Supt Ewen thanked those who provided first aid and revealed that a 17-year-old kid is in a severe but not life-threatening condition.

The devastating news came just hours after Fury discussed yesterday night's world heavyweight boxing bout between Joshua and Usyk. After the fight, in which Usyk defended his unified WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight belts against the Brit, Fury boasted that he could beat both guys, as per Daily Mail.
