Police said EMS declared her dead at the site and that the medical examiner will establish the cause of death. Ivana Trump was Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump's mother.

Donald Trump issued a message on Truth Social, the conservative social media network he started, announcing her death. Former President George H.W. Bush characterized his ex-wife as a "lovely, beautiful, and magnificent woman who had a terrific and inspiring life."

"I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City.. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!" Donald Trump posted.

Eric Trump also wrote on Instagram, calling his mother "a business powerhouse, a world-class athlete, a dazzling beauty, and a caring mother and friend."

Donald Trump referred to Ivana Trump as a brilliant manager and characterized her as demanding and highly competitive in his book, 'Trump: The Art of the Deal,' and he put her in charge of operating Trump's Castle in Atlantic City rather than employing an outside general manager.

In 2017, she told 'CBS Sunday Morning' that she rejected down Donald Trump's invitation to be ambassador to her home Czech Republic due to her independence and great life, CNN reported.

According to two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the situation, New York City police were investigating whether Ms. Trump went down the stairs at her Upper East Side residence.

According to one of the officers, there was no trace of forced entry at the property, and the death looked to be unintentional. A representative for the city's chief medical examiner's office said the death will be investigated.

Ivana Trump garnered nearly as much media attention as her husband during their marriage, as they helped define the 1980s as an era of flashy extravagance among the elite, an image that Donald Trump leveraged to fuel his turn as an outsize television personality before his 2016 presidential race.

Ivana Trump was the one who gave her husband the title "the Donald," which became a fixture in New York's tabloid press, where she was a regular and noisy presence. She was just as ambitious as her husband, boasting that "in fifty years, we will be the Rockefellers."

She was the Trump Organization's vice president of interior design and oversaw one of his most valued assets, the Plaza Hotel. She was frequently labeled as a perfectionist and a hardworking, and she worked alongside her husband on several of his early signature projects, such as the development of Trump Tower in Manhattan and the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, N.J, according to New York Times.

Ivana, Donald Trump's Love Story

Ivana Trump's father pushed her to learn to ski, and she was able to witness life outside of communism as a member of a junior ski team. By 1971, she was 22 years old and married Alfred Winklmayr, an Austrian ski instructor she thought a platonic friend but who assisted her in fleeing communism without defecting to visit her parents.

She met Donald Trump as a model here in 1976, telling in her biography how Trump got a table for her and her companions at a popular Manhattan restaurant, paid the bill, and transported her back to her hotel in a Cadillac.

She has subsequently stated that she considers herself the "first lady," having married Donald Trump before his now-wife Melania, despite their turbulent relationship and costly divorce.

Ivana and Donald's romance looked to start well, with the two marryings just over a year later - on April 7, 1977 - in a private wedding performed by author Norman Vincent Peale.

Donald Jr., the couple's first child, was born just a few months later, in October 1977. They had Ivanka Trump in October 1981 and Eric Trump in January 1984.

At the height of their relationship, the two were business partners, working on major projects such as the construction of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, the refurbishment of New York City's Grand Hyatt Hotel and the building of Atlantic City, New Jersey's Trump Taj Mahal Casino.

By 1989, however, the pair was having some problems in paradise, as they were photographed fighting while on vacation in Aspen, Colorado when Ivana discovered Donald was having an affair with Marla Maples, who would eventually become his second wife.

They divorced in December 1990, under the condition that Ivana signs a non-disclosure agreement. According to the New York Times, the divorce deal includes $14 million, a 45-room Connecticut estate, an apartment at Trump Plaza, and one month at Mar-a-Lago each year.

The divorce was finally formalized in 1992. Following that, Ivana became a celebrity in her own right, appearing with Trump in a Pizza Hut commercial in 1995 in which she quipped that she's 'only entitled to a half a slice, and as herself in the 1996 film 'The First Wives Club,' alongside Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, and Goldie Hawn, as per Daily Mail.
